Hill-Sacs lesion

​Hill-Sacs lesion is a compression fracture of posterolateral humeral head. This typically occurs due to recurrent anterior shoulder dislocation. Hill-Sacs lesion is often associated with the Bankart lesion of glenoid. CT and MRI are very sensitive to this lesion. On both MRI and CT Hill-Sacs lesion appears as a region of flattening or a wedged-shaped defect with bone marrow edema in posterolateral humeral head above the level of coracoid. Hill-Sacs lesion does not requires any treatment but, the associated glenohumeral instability and often co-existent anterior labral injury often do require surgical repair.
